How Spiritual Are You?

Being spiritual isn’t all about speaking to ghosts and living your life surrounded by different crystals. Being spiritual as a way of life can actually mean you’re more in touch with your feelings, and the feelings of others. There are a few other signs too. Take a look to see just how spiritual you are!

You’re Happy Most Days

If you’re happy most days, then you might consider yourself pretty spiritual. You shouldn’t look for outside sources to make you happy though; not money, clothes, or makeup. Those things are nice, but true happiness comes from within you. Are you happy?

You Don’t Judge Others

Judging others is actually a huge representation of how you feel about yourself. If you find yourself judging somebody’s character or looks, then you can’t be considered very spiritual. It is very narrow minded to judge somebody, especially if you don’t know them. If you catch yourself judging and stop, you’re on your way to being spiritual.

You Appreciate Alone Time

We all need alone time to renergise and recharge our batteries. You should feel happy alone. You don’t need a partner to complete you or entertain you, you should be able to do this alone. It might take some practice to begin really appreciating your alone time, but it’ll benefit you in the long run. It all starts with loving and appreciating yourself as you are. You do things just for you. You eat well, you exercise. You have fun on your own!

You Don’t Like to Argue or Fight

Arguing and fighting all stems from inner anger and unhappiness. It isn’t usually the actions somebody takes that upsets you. Nothing can upset you unless you let it. You can’t blame somebody for ‘making’ you feel something that you don’t want to feel.

You’re Interested in Astrology and Other Practices

If you’re interested in astrology and similar practices, you could consider yourself quite spiritual. Maybe you enjoy reading the daily horoscope for cancer. Obviously a generic horoscope can’t predict your future or life, but astrology can actually make a lot of sense when you look into it.

You Can Listen to Your Intuition

Being able to listen to your intuition is a big thing in spirituality. You do instinctively know when something is right or wrong, but the voice in our heads can often cloud it or silence it. If you don’t have much trouble listening to your intuition, you can consider yourself spiritual!

These pointers can indicate just how spiritual you actually are. There are many other things that can tell you whether you’re spiritual too. Maybe you are able to feel the pain of others strongly. Maybe you can’t bear to see homeless people, or animals being hurt. These are all signs you’re in touch with yourself spiritually. Most of all, spirituality is recognising that everybody has their own purpose to fulfil in this life. You know that even making a small difference to the world is a big thing. How spiritual are you?

The last thing you want to do is pack your possessions into boxes and handle the entire process alone. For that reason, it makes sense to contact a removals specialist ahead of time. Just make sure you clean the property first. In most circumstances, they will offer packages that cover every part of the job. Most removals professionals will pack your boxes, transport them, and unpack them in the new home. Best of all? They should have insurance that covers the cost of any breakages. While you love your children, and you want them to take part in the relocation process, it’s always wise to keep them out of the way. Kids don’t react well to high-stress situations, and they’re sure to cause problems. Maybe you could arrange for a friend or family member to look after them for the afternoon? That would help to stop all those tantrums you know are going to happen if they’re nearby. You can unpack all their boxes first and get their bedrooms in order before they come home. That is the best way to make sure they settle into the property on the very first night.

Now you have some great ideas for your moving day, removing all that stress should be easy. So long as you use the tips from this article, nothing can go wrong. Make Your Home Even More Beautiful With These Top Tips

Lots of us are always on the lookout for beautiful things to add to our homes. Interior decor will always be one of my favourite projects to take on. I like to refresh my rooms every so often. Of course, I don’t always have the budget to make major changes each time. Just a little something to make a big difference will do!

Many people look at home improvements as major projects to add value to your home. But even little changes to your decor and home-style can make your property more attractive. And if you’re about to put your home on the market, then that may be all you have time to do right now.

My living room is one of my favourite rooms. It’s also the room I change most often. Sometimes a change is inspired by something I’ve purchased. Other times, I might see a great picture on Instagram or Pinterest that I want to recreate for my own living room. Colour is really important to me so I try to keep up with the latest interior design Pantone’s. This season, I think I’ll be making some moves towards paler blues (again).

Moving the furniture around is another way to keep your home style fresh. I love wood furniture right now and I’m always on the lookout for chunky oaks with curves and detail. I’ve seen so many great coffee tables over the last month, that I might just need a few more living rooms, to put them in! Some of them have been a bit large for my room, though. I think living rooms shouldn’t be overpowered by the girth of your furniture.

Picture from Senosi

Seating is essential in a living room. In the past, I’ve looked at recliners that come with all kinds of weird built-in tech. You can find some to massage you and others have built in speakers. For this season, I’m looking at fabric sofas that offer texture as well as vibrant colour. I often like to have a second colour in my room. I think a warm grey-brown will work beautifully with the blues I’m looking at. Conveniently, that’s the colour lots of faux fur cushions come in too!

TV stands seem to have lost favour lately. More and more people are hanging their TVs on the wall. I can understand why. Small living rooms feel so cluttered when you’ve got a TV stand in the corner big enough to support a forty inch screen. I’ve seen a few pictures where people have hung their screen above the electric fire. It kind of makes a double screen effect. I’m not sure I would enjoy looking up at the screen for long, though.

Electric fires are certainly all the rage right now. Contemporary surrounds and gorgeous flame effects make any living room look really stylish. I think one of these will definitely be on my shopping list for next season. And the best bit? They don’t need to be cleaned out like a real fire does! What gorgeous home ideas have you seen lately?

So, it’s important to make sure you plant trees around your garden when you have the chance to.

Water the Grass

If you are serious about caring for your garden and making it look good, you need to make sure you plan in advance. A lot of people find they have yard drainage problems in their gardens especially when the rain is heavy. Now, this can be a nightmare because you could be dealing with a waterlogged garden. This can be a nightmare for the functionality and for the aesthetic value of the garden. So, to get around this problem, a lot of people like to create a rain garden. This helps to drain off the water into a specific area where it can help cultivate plants and improve the surroundings.

Composting

There are certain things you need to make sure you do in the garden, and composting is a big one. No doubt you’re going to be taking steps to make your property a bit more eco-friendly, and the garden is the perfect place to do that. There are a lot of things you can do to get a bit greener in the garden, and one of them is to compost. This is where you set up a site and use it for all your food waste. It decomposes the waste and helps add valuable nutrients to the soil. This makes the soil richer and much better for growing things

A lot of people these days like to do gardening and get out in the back yard. It has become a popular hobby and pastime generally among those who are a little older. But that doesn’t mean younger people can’t develop greenfingers too. So you need to think about gardening tips if you are new to the process, and you can use this post to help you with that.

Problems with your plumbing can cost you dearly. A burst pipe alone can be a major nuisance, and can go on to damage other parts of your home like your floors and carpets. Ideas for Adding Personal Touches To Your Wedding

Your wedding is one of the biggest and best days of your life. You want it to be perfect and just as you would have imagined it. Have a look back at weddings you have been to, though. How many of them stand out in your mind? It is so nice to have a memorable wedding by adding some personal touches. Things that are unique and quirky will be great for you to look back on and will be interesting and fun for the guest that attend too. Here are just a few ideas to help you to personalise your wedding.

The Wedding Invites

It can be easy to go for quite run-of-the-mill wedding invites. You might want them to have quite a classic look but why not go for quite a funk option? You could have a cool font and choose your favourite bright colours, rather than pastels or whites and gold. It will stand out when it arrives on people’s doorstep and get them excited about attending. To make it easy, you can even design and print wedding invites online. Take a look at Paper Themes wedding invitations for example. There are a large variety of styles available. Just think outside of the box.

image

Personalise the Bridal Party

Think about some cute little touches that you and your bridesmaids could have. Think about the groom too and the groomsmen. Could they all have matching cufflinks or socks that are personalised with their name? A cute idea for your bridesmaids is to write something to them on the bottom of their shoes. This will be such a gorgeous keepsake for them and make some great photographs on the day.

image

Wedding Programme

While the guests are waiting for your arrival, given them a little something to read. A wedding programme filled with pictures and fun anecdotes would be a cool and personalised idea. Each of your bridesmaids could write a little something about you and how you met, or a funny memory they have of you. It would be such a lovely thing for you to have a wedding memory too.

At the Reception

At the reception, it is a nice idea to name the tables, rather than just have them being numbered. They could be places you have visited together or things you have done. I have seen a wedding where the tables were all different dates that meant something to the couple. Things like their birthdays, the date they got engaged, when they met, their first kiss… I thought that was a cute and unique idea.

Guest Book

It makes it interesting for you to look back on if there is an interesting guest book. You could make one yourself or have everyone write inside a picture frame. Then you could hang the frame in your home. Another idea is that each guest has a polaroid picture taken and then writes on the back of it. Just put in a photo album and you’ll remember who was there for your special day.

I hope this has given you a little inspiration to make your wedding a little more ‘you’.

Make These Improvements To Add Value To Your Home

It can be difficult to sell your home for more than you bought it for. But, my making these four home improvements, you can add some serious value to your house price:

(Flickr: https://flic.kr/p/cJb2Jj)

Convert Your Loft Into An Extra Room

Loft conversions are always a popular home improvement to consider. They’re not too difficult to do and won’t cost much money at all. But, they can add some significant value to your home. You can convert your loft into anything that you like. My advice is to keep it simple and turn it into another bedroom. The number of bedrooms in a home contributes to the house price. If you’ve got one extra bedroom, the price of your home will rise. To take things to the next level, consider adding an en suite bathroom to your new bedroom. Again, this will only add more value to your home.

Build A Garage

Building a garage can be a very handy home improvement for you. There are a couple of ways in which you can use one to increase your house price. For starters, garages make cars safer. Having a garage means someone doesn’t have to keep their car on the street. This gives your home an additional safety factor. Or, you could use that garage as a separate room. It could function as a tool shed or a games room. Again, like with a loft conversion, this gives your house an extra room and improves the value.

Solar Panels

One of my favourite additions to a home is to put solar panels on the roof. I think they’re a great idea and come with so many benefits. First things first, they instantly modernize your property. If a property is modern, it will sell for a lot more than an old one. Secondly, they can save a homeowner tonnes of money on energy bills. With solar panels, you’ll generate energy from the sun. The fact that they can save so much money will mean that your house gets sold for a lot more. People will pay the extra price for a home with solar panels because they know it will save them cash in the future.

Garden Improvements

Another way you can add value to your home is by making some improvements to your garden. There are so many things to do here, so I’ve tried to condense it all under one heading. From patio to grass pavers, there’s a lot you can do to both your front and back garden. In fact, having a garden will boost the value of your home anyway. But, if you can do it up and make it look impressive, you’ll get some extra money when you sell your home. One thing you shouldn’t do is add a pool to your back garden. That’s one home improvement that will decrease the value of your home.

If you’re planning on selling your home, then I beg you to consider making some of these improvements. You’ll find it much easier to sell your home, and you should get a higher price for it too.

Check Out How I’m Getting My Garden Ready for Spring

Spring is in the process of getting here, and, like many of you, I have some garden projects to do. The weather is getting better, and that gives me the perfect opportunity to get outside and do the things I need. Take a look at what I’m going to do to get my garden ready for the Spring.

Flower Beds

The perfect garden is all about visual beauty as far as I’m concerned. And that means making changes to improve the visual aesthetic and create a therapeutic garden. That’s why my big project for the Spring is to add some more flower beds to my garden. I can’t wait to get loads of wonderful looking flowers and plants put in. These will really add another dimension to the garden and make it look as beautiful as possible.

Water Feature

One of the things I’m keen to add to my garden this year is a water feature. We already have a pond in there so it will go well with that. So now I’m trying to rack my brains to think of a water feature that would be appropriate. I could go for a bird bath or a water fountain, and these might be the best thing to go with. It depends on where I can fit it, and how it’s going to look. Deciding whether to go for something made out of steel, stone, or wood is the big decision here. The feature is fun and important addition to the home so I will definitely be getting one.

Pic

Clean the BBQ

The one indicator to me that the weather is getting warmer is a barbecue. I love to host barbecues at my place, and we have a wonderful large BBQ for just such an occasion. But the trouble is it’s difficult to remember that it needs to be cleaned. And this is something you might forget and keep it stored away over the winter. I have done this in the past and I know how easy it is to do. So I will be digging out my BBQ and giving it a thorough clean before I start using it again. This is a job that could take a couple hours, or it could take a whole weekend. It really depends upon the BBQ.

Flickr

Trim the Lawn

Because we’ve had the Fall and the Winter, it’s easy to let the lawn get neglected. I know because I’m as guilty of it as the next person is. But, the lawn is the very essence of the garden, so you need to make sure you keep it well maintained. The problem is that this can be very difficult to do over the colder months. So what I like to do is wait until the weather warms up and then start watering and feeding the lawn. But one thing you must always keep up with it trimming the lawn. I’ll be getting the mower out soon and giving the lawn a good trim to keep it looking great, and I suggest you do the same

The garden is such a glorious and wonderful part of the property, but many people don’t use it properly. I like to make sure that my garden is the highlight of my home, and for someone who takes pride in her home that says a lot. I like people to be wowed when they see my garden, and I love the wonderful way it frames and complements the rest of the property

Get To Grips With The Garage Monster

It’s out there somewhere. It’s a dark cold and unloved space. Except there’s not that much space anymore. It has been inhabited and taken over by a mixture of tools, junk, debris, old boxes and piles of newspapers. It has old broken garden furniture in it. It might have pieces of furniture in it masquerading as too good to throw away. It could have fishing gear, golf paraphernalia and things so rusted no one can remember what they are for. It is your garage. In the worst cases it might not even have room for a car. Or, and this is quite common, it has an old car in it that does not work while your perfectly good car sits outside. That makes sense, right?

Our garages are a clean square space that clearly knew what they are for, except we have confused them. We have taken the garage’s silence to mean that it is okay to pile up years of junk in the belief that day would come when it would all get sorted. If you are selling your property, this is the perfect opportunity. This is the day to get to grips with the garage monster.

Out it comes

All of it. Choose a dry day, apart from that today is a good choice, or the next day. Do not delay; that is how you here in the first place.

Forget the mystical garage sale.

That day never comes. It is similar to car boot fair day. This is your rubbish and you are going to get rid of it. It helps if you have two people with an opposing viewpoint. You need to be ruthless. If one of you is clinging to the fact that this stuff is worth a fortune, challenge them. Place the stuff you are keeping in one pile. Put up a garage sale sign and see how much of the valuable stuff you’ve been keeping sells. Dine out on the profits and take everything else to the tip. If you have the spare vehicle and it has been there for more than a year, it needs to go to a new home.

image

Clean the space.

Sweep it out and then fire up the water blaster. Let rip and give it a great pressure clean. The space already feels better. Give it some time to dry out. If you have a workbench in the garage start to look at how you can have access to it and store your tools efficiently.

Storage galore

Now it is time to investigate some storage solutions. Garage Cabinets are perfect for storing just about anything you need. They can range from deep bins to tall closet like spaces as well as hanging and shelf options.

Don’t forget your overhead space. Take into account any room you need for overhead doors. Timber and pipes can be efficiently stored overhead by rigging up a couple of racks. Kayaks and mountain bike stands can be useful to hold all your toys without compromising floor space.

Stand back and admire, before driving the car that works back into the garage. The monster has to all intents and purposes gone. It is no more.
