I cant wait for the holidays

I love seeing my son’s enthusiasm towards learning how to play his musical instrument. I cant wait until the holidays are here and he has his first musical concert. I just love volunteering and help set up the stage for their first concert. My daughter has done the concert every year for the 3 years that she was there. For some reason she loved setting up and sitting down right next to the carr amps. I think she loved hearing the sound come out of the amps but I am not quite sure if that’s why she liked sitting there.

I just love having my children be so interested in playing musical instruments. I think it is a great opportunity for them. I am glad the schools have enough funding to keep the music department going. If there is one program I will keep helping, it is the music department. I really wish there was more funding for the schools. What happened to the lottery saying that they would be helping schools with money? I bet that was all a sham to get people to believe they were helping out.

My craft room isn’t quite crafty right now… more like cluttery

I love doing arts and crafts with the kids. In my quiet time I like doing scrapbooking and more recently I have gotten into my planning/scrapbooking in my planner. I love decorating my planner with stickers and washi tape and all kinds of embellishments. The great thing is that I have accumulated lots of beautiful stuff for my hobby, but the bad thing is that all that stuff is bursting at the seams in my craft room.

I need something like Storable’s storage containers to contain all my things instead of the book shelf that is currently overfilled with cardstocks and stickers and markers and all kids of wood chips and different scraps. I keep telling myself that I am going to organize my craft room but every time I decide to do it I get distracted by the kids or anything else. Please remind me to order some storage containers and maybe a couple more book shelves to get my little area of happiness organized.

I bet I would have a lot more walk room space if I got the sticky notes and crap I have all over my floor in nice neat containers with labels on them. Oh I really need to fix that room and soon.

How has your summer been going ?

Here I thought I would be able to sleep in since it is summer and my kids are out of school. Ha… yeah right, These kids still wake up at the crack of dawn and want to go play outside or want to be running around screaming all over the house. I hear I am bored mom at least 2 or three times an hour but when I offer chores that need to be done all of a sudden they have things to do.

I have been trying to keep my kids as busy as possible with arts and crafts and trips to the Drive in theatre and to the 1.00 movies that our local Movie theatre offers. These kids have too much energy and I don’t have enough energy. I have never been a very big coffee drinker but I think I am going to need one or two cups just to start my day and be able to keep up with these guys.

On another note the weather has been so hot that I have been running the AC 24/7 and I know I am going to hate seeing the electric bill when it gets here. What have you been doing to keep your kids busy ? Do you have any recommendations on where I can take the kids this summer vacation?

I love taking pictures

What have you been up to ?

I was supposed to be recovering from eye surgery right about now,but instead I am trying to recover from this awful cough that just wont go away. I got sick about two days before my surgery was scheduled and the doctor decided to reschedule because he didn’t think it was good to have surgery while I was sick. Who knew that a cold could affect your eyes. I sure didn’t know that having mucus in your lungs can make your eyes sick too. I guess I can understand blowing my nose and constant coughing might put pressure in your eyes, but what I didn’t know was that having a cold might also give you mucus in your eyes. You learn something new everyday. I cannot wait until this cough from hell goes away.

So while I get better, I have been catching up on my reading and taking the kids to the playground and the movies and just trying to keep them as busy and as entertained as possible. What have you all been up to ? I cannot wait until its time for these kids to go back to school. It is super hard keeping them busy especially when they get bored so easily.

I hope next week is better than this one

This week has been a trying week for me. I have not been feeling too good. I have been dealing with migraines and now I am starting to wonder if maybe these migraines are coming from the couple of teeth that were bothering me. I didn’t give it much thought and just figured that these migraines were from the change in weather. I am now starting to think that a visit to the dentist is in the near future.

My back is still bothering me and I have been trying my best not to hurt it even more than it already is. I have been trying to do my best to do arts and crafts with the kids and entertain them with books but pretty soon I am going to have to take them out for a fun day at the park or the beach. I am really hoping next week will be a better week than this one has been.

Choo Choo soul’s Genevieve Goings has just released her first single

Disclosure: I was sent the single of “My Telephone Number is” by Genevieve Goings to review as a influencer with Entertainment New Media Network. I have been compensated for this post but my thoughts and opinions are always my own.

If you are a parent with young kids, chances are you have heard of choo choo soul with Genevieve on Playhouse Disney. My children have watched it and love to sing along and learn with Genevieve. I for one am so glad that my four year old twins and my eight year old son have this wonderful program that teaches them in a fun and simple way. Genevieve Goings has kept her wonderful teachings going and just released her first single called “My Telephone Number Is” which is a very catchy tune that will have your children remembering their phone number in no time.

I had the wonderful opportunity of listening to this catchy tune and spent the day singing the song around the house. My boys soon joined me signing and dancing along and I knew Genevieve Goings knew exactly what our young kids like.

Genevieve Goings has spent 10 years teaching toddlers fundamental fun. From her debut on Playhouse Disney as the hip singing train conductor on the educational interstitials known as “Choo Choo Soul with Genevieve”, through her remaking Classic Disney sing-alongs again with Choo Choo Soul, and voicing the learning bumpers featured on the new Disney Junior network. Genevieve is now welcoming a second generation of viewers and listeners with the release of her first solo album doing what she does best – teaching and entertaining children.

“Do You know?” is a new presentation path for learning for young children age 2-7
year old. It features songs and videos aimed at helping preschoolers learn their phone
number, telling time, putting themselves to bed, and the more personal things like
hygiene and dealing with potty training in a dignified manner. This new inspiring set of
songs is fun for the whole family and will have you, as parents and teachers, singing
and dancing along.

I for one agree with Genevieve’s way of teaching our children. I caught myself singing right along with my children “My Telephone number is” because it is such a fun and catchy tune . If you want your children having a fun time while learning their phone number order Genevieve’s first single “My Telephone Number Is” by downloading it from iTunes here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/my-telephone-number-is…/id860252230 and If your children are anything like mine they will want to hear more songs by Genevieve. I have thanked my lucky stars that
Genevieve also has a free app on iTunes called “Sing with Genevieve” which you can check out here
https://itunes.apple.com/app/id805510066 and that has kept them busy until the album’s release date on June 3, 2014. A good thing to know is that if you pre-order the album (which will be available for pre-orders
in early May), fans will receive instant access to the albums next single “Gotta Do My
Business” and I know a lot of you soon-to-be potty training moms will want to sing and teach your child that !!!

Product review : Kids Academy preschool kids games app

kids academy

I had the opportunity to try out kids academy preschool games and I loved this app. My boys who are 4 years old and getting ready for kindergarten were immediately hooked on the app. They learned a few letters of the alphabet the very first day. They also learned how to trace a few numbers. They are still young and have a ways to go but this app has piqued their interest in learning and they are beyond excited to go to school.

I was super happy to have been able to check this app out. The color and visual art is very enticing two little kids. My boys kept commenting how fun it was every time they collected bugs in a jar. I think it is a great app for little kids getting ready to go to school. If you are interested in checking out this app go to itunes and type in kids academy or click on kids academy preschool games and it should take you right to the site I went to.

I never had the patience they have

I was supposed to be sleeping last night since I was so tired but instead I stayed up even later than usual to watch prince play on the Arsenio Hall Show. That man hasn’t aged at all. I remember falling in love with prince’s music back when I was 11 years old and have never looked back. I still love his music. Not all the songs might be my favorite but I do have quite a few that are at the top of my list.

I watched in awe as the man sang and played and instrument and even worked the filter that made his guiter huummmm way after he had finished singing the last verse. My son was supposed to be asleep but he sat at watched in amazement as prince played his musical instruments. My son said mom would we be able to find low pass filter from guitar center kind of like the one prince was using ? I have no clue if guiter center would carry the exact one but I am sure we could find something similar to it.

My kids have shown so much enthusiasm with learning how to play the guitar and violin and singing. I really thought that they were going to be over the whole musical bug after a couple of months but it is still going strong. I am glad they have a passion for something though. I was not as patient as they are when it comes to practicing on their singing or playing their instrument. I am super happy that their school had enough money to even have musical instruments and music teachers to teach them. I am so glad they are getting these cool opportunities.

There will be a lot of noise

I love seeing my kids enthusiasm when it comes to trying new things. Some things they get over right away, like the time my daughter insisted I get her a hula hoop because she was planning to beat the world record for hula hooping. Sometimes they get over their new thing as quickly as it started and other times they actually stick to it such as the choir and music lessons she is taking.

My younger son sees the lessons his older sister has been taking and insists on getting a guitar and taking guitar lessons. He keeps telling me not to worry if he breaks guitar strings because we can get some john pearse guitar strings at Guitar Center which I cant argue with since he has done his research. I was hoping it was just a phase he was getting into but so far he hasn’t forgotten about getting a guitar. I think a guitar and some lessons are in the near future for him. I think I might surprise him for Christmas.

Who knows maybe in the near future I will have a rock star and a singer in the family. Like I said before if my kids want to sing or play an instrument I will encourage them and support them in their dream.
