My oldest has finished school and I am ecstatic

Its kind of surreal for me to have a daughter who is out of highs school and preparing for college. I am starting early and preparing by looking at college rings from Joy Jewelers for her class rings. I was totally unprepared and didn’t buy her high school class ring. I guess college rings are more popular than high school ones. I know she would love a ring like this one.

I am so proud of her for not only graduating high school but graduating early. I am so proud of her hard work and her dedication to her school work that made it possible for her to graduate early. She is looking forward to her prom and grad night and I find myself just as excited for her. I missed all of those cool school events and I am just glad that she gets to experience them. Do any of you have epic stories about your prom night or grad night ? I would love reading all about them.

My Friend Cayla Doll is an interactive doll that will talk and answer questions.

When I was growing up I had tons of dolls to play with. One of my favorite dolls was a My Child doll that kind of looked like me. I remember spending hours just combing her hair and talking to her and just wishing she could talk back. I always wanted an interactive doll but I was way ahead of my time and dolls like that didn’t exist in my day. My children luckily get to have toys and dolls that are much more interactive than mine ever were.

The My friend Cayla Doll is an interactive doll that can play games, answer your child’s questions and even read her stories. In order to have my friend Cayla up and running you need 3 AA batteries ( which are not included) and all you have to do is download the app through Apple iOS or Android, turn on Bluetooth and you are ready to have Cayla interact with your daughter. Cayla’s range while connected to Bluetooth is 30 feet so while you don’t have to have the app right next to Cayla make sure you do have her within range. My friend Cayla stands at approx. 18 in tall and has the mobility to either stand or sit down which my girls had a fun time doing.

My friend Cayla speaks different languages which is a great feature for this bilingual family. She also plays games and doesn’t always let you win, which my girls were shocked to find out. If your daughter is not in the mood to play games she can always settle for some quiet time and listen to Cayla tell her a story. Cayla likes to describe what went on in her photo album pictures on the My friend Cayla app. If you are worried about Cayla’s search of the internet, have no worries as Cayla is programmed with a kid safe proprietary software called Violet that protects your child from any offensive or sensitive words or images, it also allows parents to add to additional words or phrases to it. My girls had a great time talking to Cayla and having Cayla tell them all about herself. My girls were even happy to find out that Cayla’s favorite color is the same as theirs. What questions would your daughter want to ask Cayla? My girls seemed to have asked her at least 50 questions before they got tired and decided to just have quiet reading time.

My friend Cayla is sure to bring hours of fun for your girls, My daughters had a great time doing her hair and playing tic tac toe and listening to Cayla tell them stories.

If you are interested in buying a My Friend Cayla doll she will be available at major retail stores such as Target and Walmart and of course

Its music to my ears and much much more

I love having musician friends, I love having children who are interested in music and like to sing. While I love music, there is no way in heck I would be able to do what they do. I have very deep appreciation for their talents. My daughter has been in choir and my son is very interested in learning how to play different instruments. Every time we go visit our friends they have them bring out their guitars or they will have them play their drums and they sing along with them and I just sit back and watch amazed at how much they love music.

Something so simple as changing a jazzmaster pickguard has them smiling from ear to ear. I personally don’t see the thrill but I am so grateful to my friends who include my children in such activities. Although it might not mean much to other folks it means the world to me and it makes me so happy to have such wonderful friends. Friends who encourage my kids and listen to them play and sing. I have a feeling that if my children get into a band or decide on a singing career, these guys will be front and center. Thank you so much for all the love and affection you give my kids.

Please let this be the last of it

I don’t know what it is but we have been having a string of unfortunate events. I am so ready for the good luck and blessings to come. In December I had to have emergency gall bladder surgery. I finally recovered from that and last Sunday we got rear ended. My back and neck and part of my head got messed up. The doctor thought it might be a concussion due to the whiplash. I have been dealing with that pain and if I didn’t feel shitty enough, I find out that my bank account was compromised. I have fraudulent charges on my account and my account has been frozen while they investigate and send me a new card.

We also got a ticket in the mail for being on the fastpass express lane on the freeway when I am pretty sure we changed lanes before the express lane started. I am so ready to have all these things be the end of bad and unfortunate events. My stress level is through the roof and I am sure that is not good for the high blood pressure that the doctor thinks I have. Which in turn reminds me that I need to schedule a physical for myself. I have already scheduled physicals for the girls, I need to get the boys and myself done too.

These girls are giving me grey hairs

Having two teenage girls under one roof can be tough sometimes. Even though they are 4 years apart and hate to admit they are anything alike, those two have more in common than they want to realize. One thing that makes it hard for me to deal with is their constant moodiness. I do not remember being such a moody teenager. Every single time they are asked to do anything we get the eye roll or the whatever look or the I am bored look. I cannot wait until their grouchiness and moodiness is over.

My boys seem so much easier to deal with right now and they are my hyper active ones. I just don’t know whether to let the girls be and just give them their space right now or go to my room and take a deep breath and go back to dealing with shenanigans. Oh mu goodness being a parent to teenage girls can be so hard at times. I wonder if that is how my mom felt when I was their age?

You are never too old to learn something new

My baby girl has continued with her singing. I am very proud of her for sticking to it this long. I happen to think she is very talented and can make it as a singer if she chooses to go through with practicing and continues learning how to control her tones and holding her notes. Before my daughter started singing and showing such enthusiasm in singing I could have cared less about musical instruments. I have learned more about musical instruments such as the hohner melodica in these past 4 years than I have in my whole lifetime.

I took violin lessons when I was 8 years old, but even then I don’t think I cared as much about it as my little girl does when it comes to music and her singing. I guess different kind of musical instruments go hand in hand with her singing. I am glad my daughter can teach her mom something new. It is amazing seeing the world through someone else’s eyes and the enthusiasm she shows makes me feel enthusiastic too.

I hope next week is better than this one

This week has been a trying week for me. I have not been feeling too good. I have been dealing with migraines and now I am starting to wonder if maybe these migraines are coming from the couple of teeth that were bothering me. I didn’t give it much thought and just figured that these migraines were from the change in weather. I am now starting to think that a visit to the dentist is in the near future.

My back is still bothering me and I have been trying my best not to hurt it even more than it already is. I have been trying to do my best to do arts and crafts with the kids and entertain them with books but pretty soon I am going to have to take them out for a fun day at the park or the beach. I am really hoping next week will be a better week than this one has been.

Choo Choo soul’s Genevieve Goings has just released her first single

Disclosure: I was sent the single of “My Telephone Number is” by Genevieve Goings to review as a influencer with Entertainment New Media Network. I have been compensated for this post but my thoughts and opinions are always my own.

If you are a parent with young kids, chances are you have heard of choo choo soul with Genevieve on Playhouse Disney. My children have watched it and love to sing along and learn with Genevieve. I for one am so glad that my four year old twins and my eight year old son have this wonderful program that teaches them in a fun and simple way. Genevieve Goings has kept her wonderful teachings going and just released her first single called “My Telephone Number Is” which is a very catchy tune that will have your children remembering their phone number in no time.

I had the wonderful opportunity of listening to this catchy tune and spent the day singing the song around the house. My boys soon joined me signing and dancing along and I knew Genevieve Goings knew exactly what our young kids like.

Genevieve Goings has spent 10 years teaching toddlers fundamental fun. From her debut on Playhouse Disney as the hip singing train conductor on the educational interstitials known as “Choo Choo Soul with Genevieve”, through her remaking Classic Disney sing-alongs again with Choo Choo Soul, and voicing the learning bumpers featured on the new Disney Junior network. Genevieve is now welcoming a second generation of viewers and listeners with the release of her first solo album doing what she does best – teaching and entertaining children.

“Do You know?” is a new presentation path for learning for young children age 2-7
year old. It features songs and videos aimed at helping preschoolers learn their phone
number, telling time, putting themselves to bed, and the more personal things like
hygiene and dealing with potty training in a dignified manner. This new inspiring set of
songs is fun for the whole family and will have you, as parents and teachers, singing
and dancing along.

I for one agree with Genevieve’s way of teaching our children. I caught myself singing right along with my children “My Telephone number is” because it is such a fun and catchy tune . If you want your children having a fun time while learning their phone number order Genevieve’s first single “My Telephone Number Is” by downloading it from iTunes here:…/id860252230 and If your children are anything like mine they will want to hear more songs by Genevieve. I have thanked my lucky stars that
Genevieve also has a free app on iTunes called “Sing with Genevieve” which you can check out here and that has kept them busy until the album’s release date on June 3, 2014. A good thing to know is that if you pre-order the album (which will be available for pre-orders
in early May), fans will receive instant access to the albums next single “Gotta Do My
Business” and I know a lot of you soon-to-be potty training moms will want to sing and teach your child that !!!
